Relax ...

... You're now at "Aloft on Bellthorpe".

Our own special part of the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Aloft on BellthorpeAloft on Bellthorpe is in an elevated, picturesque location with views to the Glasshouse Mountains and Moreton Bay. It's a great choice if you're looking for accommodation in the Maleny area (the Sunshine Coast hinterland). This area is a lovely relaxed place to visit and stay. 'Aloft' is all about rest and recuperation from the hustle and bustle.

Here are some examples of typical activities at 'Aloft' ...

  • Walk up the road looking at our fabulous view.

  • Cross the property down the dirt road starting at the top gate. It is almost a kilometre to the back fence. A walk down the road at night with a bright torch can reveal an interesting array of wildlife including kangaroo, deer, echidna, owls, etc.

  • Try gold panning in the creek.

  • Sit in the hammock and let the kids go wild!

Maleny and Montville have a vast selection of shops, wineries, views, cheeses, restaurants and walks to partake in. To get there, follow the signs to Maleny. It is a 15-20min drive through beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland farms and bush to Maleny.

Nearby Bellthorpe State Forest is available for hiking and horse riding. No permits are required.

Full Day Trips

Noosa, Sunshine Coast or Bribie Island offer up a plethora of alternatives to the hinterland area, and of course there's always the Australia Zoo too. All points of interest are via good roads and supply some of Australia's best food, beaches, entertainment and sightseeing.

Somerset dam can be reached via sealed road or 4 wheel drive tracks. It is an excellent day out, either as an easy drive or an adventure.

Keen Off-Roader?

Coming up Bellthorpe Range Road there are two tracks accessible. A permit is no longer required. These vary in difficulty but can be a challenge. Have fun!

Driving Enthusiast/ Motorcyclist

We have some of the best drives in South-East Queensland! For example, drive from D'Aguilar over Mt. Mee to Dayboro. If you are keen for a full day out, continue on to Dayboro, Samford, Mt. Glorious and down via Northbrook to Somerset Dam and Kilcoy, before returning to Aloft via D'Aguilar Highway.

How to get to Aloft on Bellthorpe

Follow D'Aguilar Highway past Woodford and turn right into Kilcoy Beerwah Road. Several kilometres later turn left into Nonmus Road and soon after that follow the sealed road around to the left into Bellthorpe Range Road. (This is a steep, winding road but completely bitumen. Travel slowly please.)

On school days it is closed on the way up from 7.30-8.45am and coming down from 3.15-4.30pm to allow bus access. Travel 7.6km and look for Lot 231 on the right hand side. If you reach Bellthorpe West Road or Maleny turn-off you have gone about 500m too far.
